Esquinas Rainforest Lodge

Jungle adventure off the beaten track in Piedras Blancas National Park

Esquinas Rainforest Lodge, described by guests as "pure magic", "absolutely spectacular" and "the new hot-spot for Osa Peninsula", has become the perfect jungle retreat for ecotourists seeking adventure off the beaten track.

Esquinas Rainforest Lodge is part of a model project which combines nature conservation, rainforest research and development aid. Opened in 1994, the lodge was financed by the government of Austria and is probably the only non-profit ecotourism project in Costa Rica. Activities include hiking, birdwatching, horseback and mountain bike tours, as well as boat and kayak trips in nearby Golfo Dulce.

Accomodations

Each of our fourteen rooms offers a private bathroom with hot water shower, ceiling fan, full screening and a terrace. The large main building with it‘s roof made from 70,000 palm fronds has a spacious, open living room, library, bar, and a restaurant offering high-standard cuisine only a stone‘s throw from the dense jungle. We are praised for our tropical cocktails and fruit juices, the exotic vegetables from our own garden, or the freshly caught fish from Golfo Dulce. Our beautifully landscaped tropical garden attracts more than 200 species of birds, colorful butterflies, coatis, monkeys, iguanas, caymans and many other animals
